Kanji Scripts..

May 24, 2007

A little bit about Japanese writing. There are three kinds of scripts in Japanese: kanji, hiragana and katakana. The combination of all three is used for writing in Japanese. Roughly speaking, kanji represents blocks of meaning (nouns, stems of adjectives and verbs) and hiragana expresses the grammatical relationship between them (endings of adjectives and verbs). Katakana is used for foreign names, the names of foreign places and words of foreign origin.

So, why Kanji came in discussion, here is little bit of background story. As usual Sunday chat session was going on about life or something like it. The very discussion digressed to “girls usually talk more than guy” and then to kanji scripts followed by Question?

Q: What is the symbol for noise in Kanji Scripts??”

A: Women symbol clubbed thrice to represent symbol for NOISE (I wonder what their mind set is…hmmm)
